NEW YORK - Gentlemen, start your engines! That was the word out of Metropolitan Fantasy Sports Headquarters today. The Almighty Royal Council of Metropolitana - the mysterious group that oversees the Met Leagues fantasy sports world - announced in a press release that they have unanimously sanctioned a third sports league: the Metropolitan Racing Association (MRA). Met Leaguers will now get a chance to compete against one another to earn metros by choosing a team of NASCAR drivers to compete for them each week during the racing season.
Like the recently sanctioned Metropolitan Golf League, the MRA will be run entirely through the Yahoo! Fantasy Sports platform, so any Met Leaguer wishing to participate will need a Yahoo! account. Former MBLS commissioner Joe Cesarano will oversee the racing league. He confirmed on Wednesday that full details regarding the league will be provided to all interested Met Leaguers soon.
